I can hardly type this message through my tears. My heart breaks for you. We will pray for you every day. May you feel some comfort from the love of your friends and family. Cyrus

Much love and sincerest sympathy,

Hideh and I were immensely saddened to hear of your tragic loss. The blow must have indeed been hard. We are thinking of you all the time in this sorrowful instance. Perhaps Cyrus chose this way in order to grasp the point of life for his next journey.

For a parent this is the hardest lesson of all and to see a child depart so soon must impose an unbearable pain.
Love in this sad time

Robin and Hideh

Washington, D.C., Tues., 2nd. February, 1999

I am so saddened hearing about your loss of Cyrus.

Words cannot sufficiently describe what you have been through, nor can condolences alleviate your grief. There is, however, Almighty God in Heaven. As creator of Heaven and earth, He knows exactly what He is doing. To Him we can turn for strength, for balm for our hurts and grief. Unto Him I would entrust you all; the One who has the whole world in His hand. He will wipe away your tears, and give you joy to replace your grief.

Cyrus is now with the Lord, of Him we know: the Judge of all the earth will do right. So it is not Cyrus where my thought are with. It is with you sister Minou, you Laila, you Arto, and you mas Adji. I imagine: what would Cyrus want for you? I am sure he would want you to love each other, to go on with life, remember all the good things you had together, being grateful to God for allowing to have these 25 precious years of knowing and loving Cyrus, and knowing you have loved him well! That's right, you have loved him well.

Mas Raden, it was so precious what you shared with me. For instance what Cyrus would have felt about his big brother: ...whenever he was in trouble that he could count on him..... Awesome! that was so well said! Knowing that there is big brother to count on! Indeed, you have loved him right!

Let your memories bring you flowers in this winter of sorrow; let a grateful heart to Almighty God for all the 25 years of knowing and loving Cyrus bring you His peace and comfort during this hurting.

I pray that not only would you be able to accept Cyrus' passing, but that you would be able to praise Almighty God for Cyrus' death. Impossible to even think about it at this time, but with His help even the impossible is doable.

May God bless and keep you.

John, Nungki, Jonathan, Vania, Moses
ps: I am so touched you let me share in your grief. God bless you, God bless all of you! The Lord loves you all. JL
Kuala Lumpur, 7th. February, 1999

Bijan and I were very shocked and upset to hear the terrible news that Cyrus had passed away and we send you our deepest sympathy. A parent's bond with their child is so great that the loss must be unbearable. Your letter to Arto was very moving, and on reading it, I almost felt I was with you.

The wonderful thing about that letter was that, amid all the misery, there came the comfort of Cyrus’ smile.

I could not help feeling that although his life was so short and inevitably unfulfilled, through his death he will be a great influence for good. I could already see from the letter how it is bringing your family very close together.

Louise, who is in London,  also sends her love and sympathy.

When you have time, please let us know how you are. We will also write again soon.

With love from Pauline and Bijan
A Life so young released to heaven ... Left on earth, we wonder "Why?"

Dear Auntie Minou & Uncle Adji,

Please know that my heart is with you. I wish there was some way I could be there & help ease your pain. I love you both very much.
Love, Kathy
But some are sent among us briefly ...Some Have Spirits meant to fly.

Dear Auntie Minou & Uncle Adji,

I think of you often; you are in my prayers. I am so sorry for your loss; only wish I was closer so I could do more. Please take care of each other. Remember how much everyone in our family loves you.
Love, Fara

Cyrus with TatiaSince the day you called, we (Tatjana and I) have been thinking about Cyrus almost constantly, and we are very, very sad. Although we have been living in Germany for almost fourteen years now, Cyrus was a part of our lives in Indonesia, and part of Tatjana's childhood.(Cyrus & Tjana on his left).

When I had to tell her the terrible news that evening, when she returned from the mountains from snow boarding, she was terribly upset. She refused dinner and had tears in her eyes the whole evening. She kept on saying: “I know I should not think like this, but there is nothing I can do about it. Why did it happen to Cyrus. Of all the playmates, he was the sweetest and nicest one!”

I also kept remembering when Adji called me to say that you had given birth to a little boy 25 years ago. Elke and I went to the hospital immediately to see you and the baby. And you complained that your baby was not as beautiful as Elke’s (Frank) because he had such big hands and feet.

But later, the baby with the big hands and feet turned into a beautiful little boy with huge eyes and curly brown hair.

He also had such a nice character. There was nothing mean in him. That is the reason, Tatjana keeps on saying that Cyrus was her best playmate when she was little.

Later on, he was always so worried about you, Minou, and did not want you to smoke too much. Do you remember?

I never thought something like this could happen to Cyrus. He was so extroverted and had such a good relationship with you.

He was good looking, intelligent, and a nice person – his future could have been so bright. I can't believe Cyrus won’t be there when I come to visit you again.

Dear Minou, there is so much to say and I hope that we will get the opportunity to meet soon.
In the meantime, I hug and cry with you.

Your friend,
Elida
Please give my love to Adji, Laila and Arto. I really sympathize with your sorrow.

Dear Auntie Minou,
I lost the best playmate of my childhood.
Iam very sad ...
I hug you

I just want to say that in your time of grief, you are not alone for the good Lord is with you. May His strength and comfort surround you and hold you. Give all your burdens and sorrows to Him for He is waiting with arms open wide.

God Bless you.

You have a beautiful site for Cyrus....I am truly sorry for your loss.  Your pain is so new and raw....I remember when I had newly lost my daughter.  All I can offer is that it never goes away, but eases with time as you learn to live with it.  I have added Cyrus's name and URL to the Garden of Angels.  I wasn't sure if you wanted a new memorial for him or a link to yours, so I have only placed the link for now as I am very behind in my web work.  However, if you wish for me to make Cyrus a separate memorial, just let me know and I will do one as quickly as I can.  Take care.

Sending wishes for peace and comfort.

“ ..it brought tears in my eyes.. ” I am so sorry about the loss of your son Cyrus. I have read the story that you wrote in the page. I cannot imagine the trauma that you and your wife had to go thru, it brought tears in my eyes at the middle of the story what you must have gone thru. How sad it must had been. What a bereaved Mom & Dad have to say ...
“ ..losing a child is far more devastating.. ” Losing an offspring like our 25 year old, Cyrus, is a devastation NO parent will ever know, unless ONE EXPERIENCES it. It is far more devastating than losing one's own parents and brothers and sisters – which we had experienced and had gone through several times. More so when this child was a living doll, then no longer a child, became an adult and then a friend, a trusted buddy who can instead give advice, and whom we can share experiences with . On Jan. 28, 1999 when he passed away, and 2½ years later on Aug. 7th. 2001, our voices still break up and tears welled up in his mother's eyes , when a friend who did not know Cyrus was no longer with us, asked “...and how is Cyrus..?” || The Do's and Don'ts in facing bereaved parents – from the bereaved's perspectives

WebRing is the first, largest, and fastest-growing service of its kind on the Internet, providing one of the easiest ways for visitors to navigate the Web.In each of its tens of thousands of Rings, Member web sites have banded together to form their sites into linked circles. Their purpose:  to allow more visitors to reach them quickly and easily. An extraordinary system servicing three primary World Wide Web groups: Visitors, Member sites and advertiser-merchants, WebRing remains entirely open and free of charge to both Visitors and Members. As a leading online navigation aid, WebRing is experiencing a growth rate of over 10% monthly. Daily page requests from visitors exceed 2,000,000; Member sites total over 1,300,000; Rings total over 80,000. The WebRing system can support a nearly unlimited number of separate and distinct Rings across the Internet. This unique structure allows the creation and evolution of tens of thousands of different "web communities." Through navigation links found most often at the bottom of Member pages, Visitors can travel all or any of the sites in a Ring. They can move through a Ring in either direction, go to the next or previous site, or list the next five sites in the Ring. They can jump to a random site in the Ring, or survey all the sites that make up the Ring. The quickest way to find a Ring of interest is to visit WebRing's online Directory, or use RingSearch to search for Rings across the entire system, then refine your search by searching within a Ring. MIDI, or musical instrument digital interface, is a standard used by sound-card makers and musical instrument manufacturers to let various electronic instruments and sound processors talk to each other. Because MIDI sound samples and synthesis algorithms are stored on the local system (either in your sound card, the PC's processor, or in an external MIDI module), all that needs to be sent over the wire is a series of signals that say what note to play when. For that reason, extremely small MIDI files (less than 5K) can still deliver several minutes of music. A 3 minute MP3 sound carries a size of some 2.7 MB, while the equivalent 3 minute MIDI file is about 1/100 its size (27K). MIDI notes and sound effects are usually limited to the sounds in the standard General MIDI set. General MIDI is a fairly extensive set, including drums, woodwinds, strings, and some sound effects, but it's not the same as recording your own sounds or your voice which you can with MP3. Also, MIDI quality depends almost exclusively on the sound system used for playback. A PC with an el cheapo sound card using weak FM synthesis technology could make even a brilliant MIDI arrangement sound like a $15 electronic keyboard, whereas an expensive wavetable synthesis sound system could produce awe-inspiring MIDI tones. For quicker down loading, MIDI files are used here.
